What about instead of “All women are catfishes” it was “All men believe that women exist solely to service their fantasies and throw a tantrum the second we don’t.” How does that land?

It wasn't like she was out in public like this either. She was in her own home. These photos were shot through a bush, and it's possible the person even got onto the property. When are the paparazzi going to be charged as Peeping Toms? If someone is out in public and they get their photo snapped, that's one thing. But shooting into someone's backyard or into their home is something else entirely. They are literally taking illegal photographs and distributing them without consent. There ARE laws against that.

men will literally take photos of women without their consent and then criticize even the most traditionally beautiful women. Seems like nobody hates women more than straight men

Exactly 💯 nowadays for these people that are famous is even worse the situation because the are constantly over a camera. I saw some tiktok of guys saying '' sorry , if you don't have filler your aren't my type '', this society is so sick in the mind.

It’s like we’ve all been trapped in a particularly regressive time loop. The “catfish” accusation is a chef’s kiss of irony. Deception? Really? The only trickery here is the mental gymnastics required to turn sunscreen marks into a scandal. It’s all so exhaustingly predictable: women must balance between ‘effortlessly relatable’ and ‘impossibly perfect,’ and when they inevitably fail to meet this imaginary standard, the pitchforks come out.

Sweeney, of course, owes no one an explanation—about her body or anything else. But the fact she had to speak out at all?!? A reminder that we’re still stuck in a cultural purgatory where women’s achievements are footnotes to their appearance. Let her and every other woman breathe, for goodness’ sake.

Yes, paparazzi are trash, and the public discourse about Sydney’s body is unkind. But objective analysis of geometric beauty is still interesting and useful.

Sydney Sweeney is pretty, but she is not a great beauty, and never has been, not even in her movie roles.

What’s cruel is taking a sweet girl-next-door 7/10 high school cheerleader type and expecting her to be the second coming of Grace Kelly, when she just isn’t.
